How to use this tool

RangeStocks is a free, independent project. Nothing here is financial advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any stock. See the full disclaimer.

  • 1. On the home page, the list shows NASDAQ and NYSE stocks where, on the weekly chart, the algorithm found a long sideways range, a breakout below it, a failed pullback back into the range, and then a retest of the low. Traders also call this a spring.
  • 2. Use the search box to find a stock, then click "View chart" to see the weekly candles, the sideways support and resistance lines, and the swing pivots A, B, C and D that formed the range. Charts are only available for recent signals.
  • 3. Treat each result as a starting point for your own research, not as a signal to trade. Any decision to trade, and how much risk to take, is entirely yours.

How the scanner works

  • All analysis uses weekly candles.
  • It looks for stocks moving sideways and draws the support and resistance lines of that range.
  • It marks the swing pivots inside the range (A, B, C, D) so you can see how the range formed.
  • It flags when price breaks out below the range, watches the pullback, and signals when price comes back to retest the low.
  • Results are automated, may be wrong or late, and past results do not predict future performance.
